We encourage our students to take part in extra curriculum activities such as sports and clubs. Our sports teams include a well decorated football team, a basketball team, a swimming team among others. We have a variety of clubs like wildlife, music, scouts, drama, chess and GP Karting.
Music is a very integral part of Peace Junior. Apart from teaching theory in class, we encourge active participation in playing in the school band, which has instruments like drums, guitar and piano. Aside from this, we encourage the cultural and traditional forms of music and dance. We participate in the Kenya National Music Festivals every year, where we boast qualification to the National Level every year with consistently good performance
We have a well developed computer center with interesting programs and software that encourage learning for all ages. At every stage we give all students the opportunity to develop and apply their ICT capability.
All our computers have internet access and opens our pupils up to the global village, fosteing a global worldview and understanding which is crucial in this day and age.
Not all education takes place in the classrooms. We send our students on educational trips to various locations of interest that will help them in academic subjects, and also enhance their general learning experience. They visit places such as the Kenya National Museum, National Archives, coffee farms, parks and the like. They also go for hikes and tour mountain ranges. These experiences are not only fun but build the student's character.
We have a GP Karting club which gives pupils the chance to experience a real adrenaline rush by visiting a race track and having a go at the go-karts.
Pupils hone their driving skills at a young age, as well as develop a fighting spirit that can be transferred to their studies. And who knows; one of them may be the next Patrick Njiru.
